CHARLES BANFIELD PRODUCTIONS • DELIVERING THE POSSIBILITIES

AN UN-COMMON 40TH BIRTHDAY PARTY
Guests are the decor- and entertainment

Sometimes, the party is all about the people who attend it. In the case of this 40th Birthday Party, guests were the decor and the entertainment.

The birthday boy wanted something really outside of the box. Guests were invited to a Black and White Masked Ball at his home.

Decor for the party corresponded with the homes decor. Buffets were dressed in black satin linens covered with large ostrich feathers to the floor, then swagged with dripping white satin as overlays. A retro clam shell ice sculpture centered the seafood display. A vintage champagne fountain was filled with Cosmopolitans. Plaster statuary was positioned around the home, each wearing proportionate masquerade masks. Common rooms where draped in fabric and light fixtures where covered in drop crystals for added drama. Overall the theme was to be a seen from a swanky neo classical 50's modern happening.

As an added touch, a handful of character actors were hired and "planted" in the crowd. Inspired to be a spin-off of the highly interactive play "Tamara"- they were there to be over the top characters from the birthday boys past, working the room. Some were even given stories to tell about situations involving attending guests, including the hosts mother, as though they were there experiencing them too. Since the guest list united several different friendship circles, no one was the wiser! Add the Beautiful Bartenders (www.beautifulbartenders.com) to mix the drinks, and you have a great party.

Scheduled scenarios included: the newlywed heiress and her gay (much younger) husband - hitting on guests at the bar - the two "double D" mud wrestle girls working the dance floor, the screaming naked guy in the pool, the drag queen (in men's clothing) appearing to follow all of the men out of the restroom, to name a few.

The guests all had plenty in common to talk about! And each of them called the next morning to retell their stories to their host.
